The best of La Plagne Resort

Located in Savoie in the heart of the French Alps, La Plagne Resort is a prime destination for winter sports enthusiasts and mountain activities. Skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts will be thrilled with the La Plagne Paradiski area, one of the largest ski areas in the world. La Plagne also offers a range of unique and exclusive activities that guarantee memorable vacation experiences. Here are five must-do activities not to be missed during your stay in your luxury chalet at La Plagne Resort.

Live 3000: Access to the La Plagne Resort Glacier

For those dreaming of reaching the Alpine peaks, the Live 3000 experience at La Plagne Resort is a must. This activity allows you to ascend to 3000 meters and access the Bellecôte glacier, situated between the Roche de Mio and the roof of La Plagne. Thanks to the ultra-modern Glaciers gondola accessible from the top of the Roche de Mio, you will be transported in 10 minutes to breathtaking panoramas, with stunning views of the surrounding Alpine peaks. At the summit, panoramic platforms are set up to let you admire the landscape and take memorable photos, notably with the unbeatable view of Mont Blanc, the highest point in the Alps. This unique experience offers you a different perspective of the mountain, away from the hustle and bustle of the slopes. You can even enjoy a gourmet or savory break at the mountain-top restaurant located at the summit of the gondola.

Aerolive, the Open-Air Gondola at La Plagne Resort

In a world exclusive, La Plagne Resort is testing a gondola with the most minimalist design possible. This experience, called Aerolive, aims to satisfy thrill-seekers.

Two new cabins, named L’Acrobate and La Funambule, will be available on the Glaciers Gondola from the start of the summer season in July 2024. Their names immediately evoke the sensational and aerial aspect of this adventure. With a semi-open grating floor and no windows, passengers find themselves literally suspended in the void.

Starting at 2,739 meters and reaching an altitude of 3,080 meters, the experience lasts about thirty minutes, including a preliminary briefing. The six passengers, secured by harnesses and attached to the cabin, can enjoy this unique ascent in both summer and winter. Reservations are already open. For an exclusive experience, it is also possible to privatize the ascent. The descent, however, is done in a classic cabin.

Bobsleigh at La Plagne Resort

Experience extreme thrills by racing down the only bobsleigh track in France open to the public. The Olympic track at La Plagne, built for the 1992 Winter Olympics, now offers the general public the opportunity to try this spectacular sport. Several options are available, from the bob-raft (a self-braking bobsleigh) for a gentle first experience, to bob racing for the more daring, where you will be accompanied by a professional pilot. This activity promises unforgettable adrenaline rushes and is a rare opportunity to experience the excitement of an Olympic sport.

Igloo Building

For an extraordinary adventure, participate in an igloo-building workshop on the La Plagne domain. Guided by experienced instructors, you will learn the traditional techniques used by Arctic peoples to construct these snow shelters. This activity is ideal for families and groups of friends, offering an educational and fun experience. Not only will you discover how to cut and assemble snow blocks, but you will also be able to enter your own igloo once it is completed. It's an original way to connect with the winter environment and experience an immersive adventure in the heart of the Alpine mountains.

The Colorado Luge

For thrill-seekers and family fun, the Colorado Luge is a must-try activity at La Plagne Resort. This 1.5 km long toboggan run promises an exciting descent through tight turns and fast straightaways. Equipped with a specially designed sled, you'll race down the slope while enjoying spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. The Colorado Luge is accessible to everyone aged 10 and up, making it a perfect activity to add some excitement to your vacation.
